What will I be studying?
Offered at Higher tier only
Biology, Chemistry and Physics at GCSE.

What sort of coursework will I have to do, how will the coursework influence my final mark?
For each subject, you will have to complete:
One practical investigation (33.3%) or
One Case Study and
One Data Analysis

What sort of activities will I be doing in class?
A wide range including experiments, discussions, research, groupwork and data analysis.

How will I be examined?
For each subject you will sit:
1 x 40 minute exams in June in Year 10
1 x 40 minute exam in January in Year 11
1 x 45 minute exam in June in Year 11
All 40 minute exams require you to make short answers to questions on the modules covered. The 45 minute exam will require longer answers.

You need to be adaptable and prepared to question. You need to work independently.

How will I be assessed?
The 4 exam papers account for 16.6% each
Coursework counts for 33.3%

What else do I need to know?
You will work from a Workbook as well as use an exercise book. It is strongly advised that you purchase a revision guide from the Science Department. |
