You will be studying a range of practical and theoretical activities. Two modules will be theoretical with a third covering participation in sport.
What sort of coursework will I have to do, how will the coursework influence my final mark?
You will be doing regular assignments, with a minimum of two in each module. These could be written, oral or in presentation form.
Coursework accounts for 100% of the final mark.
What sort of activities will I be doing in class?
You will be covering a range of skills to allow learning and developing in both practical and theory lessons.
These will involve presentations/speaking to groups. Discussions/interviews on topics. Written assignments. Using ICT to record and produce work.
How will I be examined?
There is no final exam.
Do I need special skills?
A sound practical ability, with an interest in performing.
An interest in a career in sport.
An enthusiasm for PE.
What qualifications will I achieve?
Level 2 BTEC First Certificate in Sport.
-This is equivalent to two GCSE’s at grades A*-C
How will I be assessed?
You will receive a maximum of 18 points for each module.
You will need to achieve a minimum of 18 points over the three modules to achieve a pass
What else do I need to know?
You will receive 2.5 hours of tuition each week. This will consist of a double and a single lesson.
An involvement in extra-curricular activities is beneficial, as is completing the JSLA course.
What sort of homework will I be expected to do?
You will be expected to complete homework on a regular basis.
In addition, at least twice a strand, an assignment will be set to be completed over a longer period of time.

What deadlines will I need to meet?
You will need to submit all homework and assignments by the deadline set. Therefore organisation and timekeeping are essential skills.

Sports journalist.
Police officer.
Many others.
Or further study at AS/A2 level in PE or BTEC Nationals
