How will I be examined?
There will be three exams overall. These will take place in Year 10 and Year 11
In each exam there are two written papers
Calculator and Non Calculator
Each with a variety of questions in terms of level and topic. |
Do I need special skills?
You need to have confident numeracy skills and at a higher level deal with abstract ideas. |
What qualifications will I achieve?
GCSE Mathematics at either Foundation or Higher Level.

What else do I need to know?
The new GCSE has only two levels – Higher and Foundation. There are a much wider variety of topics to deal with. The Foundation has now included Grade C and the new Higher has included grade D- careful thought needs to be given to achieve the best level of entry. |
What sort of homework will I be expected to do?
General consolidating techniques in the class, occasionally investigations, revision work.

What can this course lead to in the future?
GCSE Maths is a vital requirement for a wide variety of courses. High level passes leads to studying the topic further at ‘AS’ level.
